Ok, so more things are working on the site now.

First of all, I’ve chosen Flickr as my online photo manager and have added a plugin that pulls in my most recent photos via RSS. I wanted to go with Picasa because I use a number of other Google services such as Google Calendar and Google Analytics, both excellent services (although Calendar could use some improvements). However, I chose Flickr first of all because the WordPress plugins for Picasa were terrible. Not that I didn’t have a difficult enough time finding a decent one for Flickr that fit my needs. Then, Flickr is more widely used and seems more robust than Picasa. As far as the plugin goes, thank God for the flickrRSS plugin by Dave Kellam. I installed other plugins that required far too much setup for what I needed to do and then wouldn’t style properly. flickrRss is incredibly simple to set up and maintain and fit perfectly with the design for the site.

Next, I’ve added some icons (which may change soon, not quite happy with them) for the timestamp and permalink and have one waiting for use with comments once that is set up.

The contact form is up and running, so feel free to email me any questions or comments you might have.

I’ve also cleaned up the markup in some places, added titles to each portfolio piece, and added a hover state for them as well.

The only major portion left is adding comments to posts. Outside of that it’s all tweaking and getting it “just right”. I’ll likely force the front page, archive, and category pages to display only excerpts of posts as the page length is likely to get very long (I’m quite verbose^_^). Ok, time for bed!
